Delbert Bowden Obituary
icon Dr. Delbert Anton Bowden, 89, loving husband father and grandfather. He was born on May 9, 1925 to Ediel Pringle and Carl Bowden in Dubuque, Iowa. He died on June 16, 2014 at his home in Winfield, IL. He married Camilla nee Vozzella on August 6, 1949 in Chicago, IL. Dr. Bowden attended high school in Dubuque Iowa and then went into the Marines WWII from May 1943 to June 1946. He was honorably discharges as a Corporal. He served aboard USS Europa after the end of WWII. He graduated from the University of Dubuque, but also received his master's degree from Roosevelt University in Chicago, and doctorate from Northwestern in Evanston. His career included music teaching, counselor and administration. He is survived by his wife Camilla; his daughters Janis and Debra (Jay) Gregory-Voss; grandchildren Jessica Bowden Kimple, Jonathan White Kimple and Camilla Elaine Gregory. Visitation Thursday 4-8 p.m. at Williams-Kampp Funeral Home, 430 E. Roosevelt Rd., Wheaton, IL 60187 (one blk. east of Naperville Rd) Visitation Friday 9:00 am until time of service 10:00 a.m. at the 1st Presbyterian Church of Wheaton, 715 N.
