Beake, James A. James A. Beake, a 65-year-old Ingleside resident, passed away peacefully in his sleep at home, on Saturday, October 5, 2013. He was born in Chicago on March 12, 1948 to the now late Richard and Lorraine (nee Dost) Beake. James was a Vietnam War veteran, having served proudly for the U.S. Army Special Forces in Airbourne Long Range Patrol (LRP), 51st Infantry F. Company. He was an Airbourne Ranger 75th PCo. More recently, he worked for the Illinois Tollway for 25 years. James is survived by Marcia Beake, his wife of 37 years; his children, Shaw (Bryan) Pickens, Darcie (Bill) Addis, and Rich Beake; his grandchildren, Lauren, Zakk, Sydney, Ben, and Chase; and his brothers, Curtis (Ed) Beake and Clinton (Dan) Beake. Friends of the family may join them for a memorial visitation at STRANG FUNERAL CHAPEL, 410 E. Belvidere Road, Grayslake, IL 60030 on Friday, October 11, 2013 from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon, with the memorial service commencing at 12:00 noon. Interment will be held privately. I met Jim when he was a member of the Lake County Vietnow group. Later I read about him in a a book of LRRP's in Vietnam. He will be missed.

Jim and I worked together at M-4 garage for many years. We shared many laughs and stories. He and Marcia had gotten Shotzee from me. He loved that little dog. The Beake family has my sincerest condolences. Rest in peace Jim, and thank you for your service to the USA.
