James Anderson Obituary
James M. Anderson (Jim), 87, of Palatine IL, passed away on Saturday, April 27, 2013. Jim previously lived in Wheaton, IL for 40 years. He first met Peggy at Austin High School (class of 1943) at the age of 15. They have been together ever since, through 66 years of marriage. He continues to live in Peggy's memories. Jim was the owner/operator of Anderson Dental Lab, 30 N. Michigan Ave., Chicago. Jim is a past Worshipful Master of Old Glory Lodge (formerly No. 975). He is a veteran of the World War II European Theater of Operations as a part of Company L, 353rd Infantry Regiment, 89th Division, also know as the "Rolling W's". Jim served with distinction, receiving a bronze star for bravery in battle. A highlight experience was flying to Washington D.C. with Honor Flight Chicago in 2009. Jim provides a rich legacy through his son Christopher of Shawnee Mission, KS (Lyn); daughter Melanie Andres of Palatine, IL (Robert); son Matthew of Green Bay, WI (Debbie). A true joy for Jim are his six grandchildren Kate Read (Steve), Jessica, Vaughn (Kelly), Weston, Katie and Becca, and his first great grandson, Oliver James Read. Jim lived his life with a quiet, calm demeanor of dignity, honor and value that included a mischievous but warm sense of humor. To meet Jim was to experience a loyal friend and to understand the power of an honest personal relationship. To know Jim was to feel love, safety, to understand trust and to laugh out loud. A memorial service will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers or gifts, your prayers are appreciated and donations can be made in Jim's name to "Honor Flight Chicago," 938 W. Montana Street, Chicago, IL 60614-2409.
