James Chandler Obituary
CHANDLER, James L., age 72 years of Cedar Grove, WI, passed away on May 1, 2014. He was born on January 10, 1942 to Robert and Sylvia (nee Sanderson) Chandler in Ypsilanti, MI and was raised in Ann Arbor, MI. Jim attended Ann Arbor High School and later Michigan State University where he earned his undergraduate and graduate degrees from Michigan State University. Jim's journey with Scouting began in 1951, when he joined Cub Scout Pack #122 at Perry School in Ann Arbor, MI. In 1953, Jim joined Boy Scout Troop #2 at the Bethlehem Church, where earned the coveted Eagle Scout Award. His service was so profound that he was honored with the Distinguished Eagle Scout Award. Jim was a member of the Boy Scouts of America Professional Staff. A career that spanned for 52 years. He was a member of the United Methodist Church.Jim is survived by his sister Marilyn Grasso, brother Rev. Thomas R. Chandler and half-sister Cheryl Johnson. He is further survived by his nieces: Linda Grasso, Terri Hastings, Pamela Grasso, Deborah Grasso, Allison Graham, grand nephew Jason Hastings, other relatives and many friends. He is preceded in death by his parents.A Funeral Service will be held at 12:00 pm on Friday, May 9, 2014 at the Phillip Funeral Home Chapel of West Bend, WI with Rev. James Snodgrass presiding. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Friday, May 9 from 10:00am until time of service (12:00pm).
