Jihad T. Muhammed Obituary
Muhammad, Jihad T. (James T. Cooke, Jr.) was born May 29, 1955 to James T. Cooke, Sr and Luella Mitchell in Waukegan, Illinois. He graduated from Roosevelt High School in 1973. He enlisted to the United States Navy. He united in Holy Matrimony to Cherese Glenn until the Lord called him home. To this union two sons were born, Zion and Joshua. Jihad was the CEO of Urban Development Consultant and Adjunct Professor at Chicago State University and Indiana University Northwest. Jihad was preceded in death by his grandparents, Will Cooke and Luruner Cooke; his aunt, Lucille Cooke; father James T. Cooke, Sr. Jihad leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Cherese Glenn-Muhammad; five children, Taariq Muhammad, Tia Muhammad, Tajiddin Muhammad, Zion Muhammad and Joshua Muhammad; three stepchildren, Morgan Glenn, Kyisha Glenn-Hunter and Tiffany Mason (Javon); three sisters, Kay Washington, Elaine Knobloch, Jackita Harrison; two brothers, Elvid Ammons and Citron Ammons; seven grandchildren, Elijah Muhammad, Iniya Hunter, Ilisha Hunter, Autumn Hunter, Jadon Mason, Kayla Mason and Noah Mason, and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends. Janazah service will be held at 2:00pm at Manuel Memorial Funeral Home 421 W. 5th Avenue Gary Indiana. Memorial Service and repast will be held at 4:00pm at Ambridge Mann Community Center 2822 W. 4th Avenue Gary, Indiana. Interment Oak hill Cemetery.
