John E. Brennan, 92, of Lake Forest, IL and Palm Desert, CA, formerly of Chicago, died May 3, 2013 in Palm Desert. Founder of Brennan Equipment & Manufacturing in Joliet, IL in 1956 . Born April 24, 1921 in Marysville, Kansas and moved to the Lincoln Park/DePaul area of Chicago on Belden Avenue in 1935. John served in the Army Air Corps in the Pacific. His affiliations were with Catholic Charities, the Elks Club and the Avondale Country Club in Palm Desert, CA. and a tireless volunteer at Apostolate of the Handicap. Husband of Kristin Wildman Brennan and the late Clara Chay Brennan. Stepfather of Christopher (Mary) Bauder, Gwen (Bill) Travelstead, Elizabeth (Eric) Margarida, Diane (Peter) Grumhaus, Laurie Bauder and Allyson (Patrick) Donnelly; Grandfather of 16; Brother of Marion Ellsworth, Dolores Reschke and Alfred Brennan and Brother of the late Nellie O'Neil, Bill Brennan, Cele Maypole, Jim Brennan, Kathleen Hennigan and Margaret Ann. Beloved Uncle to numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation from 2 p.m. until the 3 p.m. Funeral Mass Friday, May 10 at St. Patrick Church, 950 W. Everett Road, Lake Forest.
