Leroy Botkin Obituary
iconLeroy Vance Botkin, 92, of Northbrook, formerly of LaGrange, passed away March 28, 2014. Beloved husband for 70 years of Edith Botkin nee Tieckelmann; loving father of Nancy (Robert) Carlson, Allan (Barbara) Botkin, Mimi Botkin (James Wilde), and David (Nancy) Botkin; cherished grandfather of David (Megan) and Steven (Jill) Carlson, Allison (Joe) Hahn, Max Botkin, Jack, Quinton, Mitchell, Christina and Elise Wilde and Kelsey Botkin; proud great grandfather of Robbie and Leah Carlson and Eva Hahn. After graduating from Carthage College with a Bachelor's Degree, Leroy served in WWII as an US Naval Radar Officer in the Pacific on the USS Uvalde. After the war, he received his Master's Degree in Actuarial Science from the University of Iowa on the GI Bill. He retired as an executive at CNA. Visitation Friday, April 4 from 3 to 8pm at N.H. Scott & Hanekamp Funeral Home, 1240 Waukegan Rd., Glenview (just south of Lake Ave. on west side). And visitation Saturday, April 5 from 10am until time of service 11am at the Lutheran Church of the Ascension, 460 Sunset Ridge Rd., Northfield. Interment Ridgewood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Carthage College, Office of Institutional Advancement, 2001 Alford Park Dr., Kenosha, WI 53140. Funeral information 847-998-1020.
