MARGOT SITTA LOEWENBERG

Obituary Condolences

MARGOT SITTA LOEWENBERG Obituary
Margot Sitta Loewenberg, nee Stern, age 91, made her journey home fittingly on a beautifully sunny day, Tuesday, May 14, after a courageous battle with Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia. Cherished sweetheart and beloved wife and soul mate of the late John Loewenberg, they had a wonderful marriage blessed with a loving daughter Judy Friedman, and son-in-law of almost 40 years Kerry Friedman, and a wonderful son, Howard Loewenberg, and daughter-in-law of almost 25 years, Karen Hobson Loewenberg. She was a loving "Omie" of six precious grandchildren, Bryan, Jennifer, Jeremy and Michael Friedman, and Jon and Zach Loewenberg. A Holocaust survivor, Margot was born in Frankfurt, Germany and fled during the Nazi years, first to Cologne on the Kinder Transport and then to the U.S. Margot was an entrepreneur, owning a candy store business with her husband, a fantastic homemaker, a superb friend and a person of true integrity and honor. In loving memory of our Mom/Omie - "Your caring, generosity and always upbeat personality will live on in us forever. Life will not be the same without you, however we know you are watching over us and one day we will all be together in heaven. We love you." Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 17th at 11:00 AM at the New Light Cemetery's Chapel, 6807 East Prairie Road in Lincolnwood followed immediately by burial. A Memorial Service for residents of The Park (145 North Milwaukee Avenue, Vernon Hills) will take place later that afternoon (Friday) at 3:30pm. In lieu of flowers, Margot had asked that donations be made to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (www.lls.org). Arrangements by Chicago Jewish Funerals-Skokie Chapel,847.229.8822, www.cjfinfo.com .
