Obituary Condolences

icon Oliver Yuen, 78, of Darien, IL, U.S. Navy Veteran, passed away peacefully March 14, 2013. Beloved husband of 24 years to Jill Yuen (nee: Smitley); cherished father of David (Maya) Yuen and Craig Yuen. Oliver was the son of the late Ernest and Julia Yuen (nee: Lee); preceded in death by his sister, Illinois Yuen; and his first wife, Maxine Yuen (nee: Tanton), mother of David and Craig Yuen; survived by his brother, Eddy (Shawn) Yuen; nieces, Dawn Harvey, Christine Zalesiak, Debbie Zalesiak, Terry (Phil) Hayes and Leah West; and nephews, Dorian Yuen, Rusty Tanton and Luke West. After serving in the U.S. Navy as an aviation electronics technician stationed in Bermuda from 1956 to 1960, Oliver graduated from University of Illinois, Champaign-Urbana, IL, in Engineering and later with a MBA from the University of Chicago, Chicago, IL. He worked for 30 years at Commonwealth Edison. He enjoyed coaching his sons' baseball teams, playing golf, organizing golf tournaments for his family and friends, going to movies, photography and traveling with his wife, Jill. Visitation Tuesday, March 19, 2013, from 4 p.m. until 9 p.m., at Adolf Funeral Home, Ltd., 7000 S. Madison St., Willowbrook, IL 60527. Prayers Wednesday, March 20, 2013, 9:15 a.m., at the funeral home proceeding to St. John of The Cross Church for Mass of Christian Burial, 5005 Wolf Rd., Western Springs, IL 60558, at 9:45 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to Marianjoy Rehabilitation Hospital, 26W171 Roosevelt Rd., Wheaton, IL 60187, in Oliver's name, would be appreciated.
