Robert Alpert Obituary
Robert "Bob" Alpert, 96, passed away on June 13th in Dallas, TX. He was a resident of Highland Park, IL for 50 years, before moving to Delray Beach, Fl. and Dallas, Tx. Bob graduated Dartmouth College, Class of 1939. He was a decorated Captain in the U.S. Army Air Corps in World War II. His business career spanned creating innovative products to sales, management and producing industrial films . Bob was happily married to Corinne ("Corie") Stroock Galinger. He is survived by his son, Steven G., Dallas, TX; and granddaughters Sarah Elizabeth (Max Olesen) of Victoria, B.C., and Hannah Allene of New York, N.Y. Prior to entering the hospital on June 9th, Bob celebrated his birthday week with parties, a Texas Rangers baseball game, wine-making, and feasting surrounded by his entire family and those he loved. His was an old-time passing, just as one might imagine a biblical patriarch or a Bronze Age hero, Bob was conscious, smiling, and wise to the end. He died in stunningly perfect peace within himself and with the universe. Just before he passed away his youngest granddaughter, Hannah called him. To allay her fears, Bob sang in that smooth Tony Bennett voice of his an old standard made famous by Billy Holiday, "I Can't Give You Anything But Love, Baby." That was Bob -- He was all about timing, memory, love - and spreading joy. Burial private in Gloversville, NY. Contributions to favorite charity or Dartmouth College, Class of 1939, Scholarship Fund, Hanover, NH 03755-3555.
