Obituary Condolences

Robert Thomas Etchingham, visitation for Robert T. Etchingham, 86, of Lake Zurich, formerly of Arlington Heights will be held Thursday, Nov. 1, 2012 from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the Ahlgrim Family Funeral Home , 415 S. Buesching Road, Lake Zurich, IL 60047. He will lie in state Friday, Nov. 2, from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the funeral mass at 10:30 a.m. at St. Francis de Sales Church, 33 S. Buesching Road, Lake Zurich. Father David Ryan will officiate. Entombment will be in All Saints Mausoleum, Des Plaines. Robert was born May 12, 1926 in Chicago and passed away peacefully Monday, Oct. 29, 2012 at his home in Lake Zurich, surrounded by his family. He was a decorated WWII U.S. Army Veteran; having received two bronze battle stars for bravery as a gunner in the Phillipines. He also served as an M.P. in Japan during the occupation. He was a graduate of Northwestern University, Evanston, and received a bachelor's degree in business administration after 11 years of night school. He retired from Teletype as a senior industrial engineer. Robert was the loving husband of Elissa D. Etchingham, and his first wife, the late Lydia (nee Grieco) Etchingham; proud father of James P. (Beth) Etchingham, Patricia (Mark) Courtois, Robert K. Etchingham and Joseph M. (Kristin) Etchingham; step father of Brian Panezich; loving papa of Matthew, Patrick, Jimmy, Jack, Katie, Kevin, Kelly, Jackie, Jessica, Michael, Ellie and Maggie; fond brother of Gerald (Marilyn) Etchingham and John (late:Sandra) Etchingham. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Maryville Academy, 1150 N. River Road, Des Plaines, IL 60016 or Hospice and Palliative Care of Northestern Illinois, 405 Lake Zurich Rd., Barrington, IL 60010.
