Theodore D. Tieken, Jr. died on May 20, 2013. Theodore "Teddy" Tieken attended the Latin School, St. Paul's School, received his BA at Princeton University and his MBA at Northwestern University. He was a long term board member of the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago, Lyric Opera of Chicago, the Racquet Club of Chicago, Graceland Cemetery and an avid supporter of the Yampa Valley Medical Center in Routt County, Colorado. Mr. Tieken's father, Theodore D. Tieken Sr., was the former chairman of Babson Farms. His mother, Elizabeth B. Tieken, was dedicated to many of Chicago's civic causes. Before becoming President of Babson Farms, Teddy founded and ran Maaroufa Press which specialized in publishing environmental books and poetry. All who had the good fortune of knowing him were blessed by his keen wit, his quiet genius, his loyalty and generous heart. He is survived by his wife, Charlotte Goodwin Tieken, two sisters, Nancy B. Tieken and Elizabeth T. Kirkpatrick, nine nieces and nephews, companion Lee Glazer, Hope and countless loving pals. Services were private. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago, Lyric Opera or the charity of your choice.

Charlotte, so sorry to hear about Teddy. We shared many a special moment together----including that great bottle of Romanee-Conti!
