DON CARLOS JOHNSON A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, October 8, 2013 at 10:00 am at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Table Mountain Ward, located at the coroner of Nelson Ave and Table Mountain Blvd., in Oroville, for Don Carlos Johnson, 84 of Palermo CA. Don passed away at his home in Palermo on October 1, 2013. He was born on June 26, 1929, in Oroville. He lived his entire life in Butte County. He was a Korean War Veteran, where he was wounded while serving. He spent his life between the family farms in Gridley and Palermo, living his later years at the farm in Palermo. He helped start the family business, "Butte View Olive Oil Co." He enjoyed working in his yard and garden, he also served on the Butte County Grand Jury for many years. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ezra and Nettie Johnson, one sister, Elra Adcock, and one brother Elvin (Bud) Johnson. He is survived by one son, Louis Johnson of Oroville, three grandchildren, Don Johnson, Kristine Eustler both of Palermo, and Cynthia Suitor of Oroville, four great children and one great-great-grandchild. Two sisters, Leah Squires of Gridley, Lila Hockstrat of Palermo, two brothers, Ard Johnson of Riverside, Lawrin Johnson of Palermo, numerous nieces and nephews. Brother Lou Rotar (Don's Home Teacher and former Bishop) will officiate the service. Interment will be at the Oroville Memorial Park Cemetery. The family suggests contributions to Veterans with Spinal Cord Injuries Fund, c/o Palo Alto Elks Lodge, 4249 El Camino Real, Palo Alto, CA 94306 Arrangements are entrusted to Gridley Block Funeral Chapel.
