Gentry Perdue Obituary
GENTRY PERDUE Nov. 6, 1921- June 11, 2013 Born in Lee County Ky. Departed, Oroville, CA. He is preceded in death by daughter Doris Blalack of Greenville, MS. He leaves behind his wife Nora and five daughters, Janice Carrol, Suzanne Johnson and Cheryl Henry all of Greenville, Ms. Kay McBride and Ellen Perdue of Oroville. Perdue is a WWII Veteran, having served in the European Theater, and fought in five major campaigns, including Norman Beach. Was awarded the Bronze Star six times. Perdue moved to Oroville in 1962 and established and operated "Perdue's Auction" for many years. Upon retirement, he reached out to many homeless people to help and assist them on a daily and continual basis until the near moment of his death. Services will be held at Scheer Memorial Chapel, Friday, June 14, 2013 at 1 p.m.
