HOWARD P. WURLITZER Dec. 15, 1923-Jan. 15, 2014 Born in Cincinnati, Ohio. Lived in California for the rest of his life except for serving in the Army during WWII and attending the University of Wisconsin, Madison-BS Agriculture and an MS in Agronomy. Married Nancy Pollock who preceded him in death. Survived by four sons, Douglas (Michele), Lindsay (Paula), Bradley (Mary) and George (Lori); grandchildren Carrie, Christina, David, Michelle, Krista, Caleb, Heather, Katie, Justin, Brittney; great grandchildren Avery, Zoe and Kaela. Father, Farmer, Rancher, Landowner, Naturalist, Lover of the Outdoors, and a Renaissance Man. Purchased his first parcel of farmland in 1952 and never stopped, however, each subsequent purchase had to have exceptional aesthetics. Lived in Isolated splendor, on a year round creek, on his ranch near Chico for the last 40+ years with his beloved English Setters as his constant companions. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, January 25, 2014 at 2:00 p.m., at his home. Memorial Donations may be made to the Altacal Audubon Society in care of Newton-Bracewell Funeral Home.
