WAYNE CLARENCE HANSON Wayne Clarence Hanson was born in Bryant, So. Dakota, 8/24/21, to parents Alfred & Thora Hanson. He was the oldest of eleven children and spent his youth working alongside his Dad on the farm. At the age of 21 he joined the Navy in 1942 and served In WWII for three years on the USS Tracy and other minesweepers in the So. Pacific. After the war he worked for 30 years at Mare Island & Hunter's Point Naval Shipyards. Wayne leaves his loving wife of 40 years, Lorraine A. Hanson. Wayne and his first wife Barbara were the parents of six children, Thomas Hanson, Sheryl Heath, Susan Hanson, Donald Hanson, Lisa Spadini and William Hanson. He is survived by a loving family including grandchildren, great -grandchildren, sisters and numerous nieces and nephews. Wayne, also known as "Papa" was dearly loved by Lorraine's seven-children and their families. Wayne was hard working, honest and loyal and truly typified the 'Greatest Generation". He was loved by many and will be deeply missed by all his loving family. A private family service will be held at at later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Wayne's name to Enloe Hospice c/o Brusie Funeral Home.
