CHILLICOTHE: Clyde E Taylor, 89, of Chillicothe, died 6:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 23, 2013 in the Pickering House, Lancaster surrounded by his loving wife and family.
He was born July 18, 1924, in Chillicothe, to the late William C. and Carrie Burnheimer Taylor.
On February 14, 1987, he married the former June E. Hall who survives.
Also surviving are children, Jerry (Kenneth) Crabb, Altamonte Springs, FL, Sally (John) Dunbar, of Sarasota, FL, Cindy (Tom) Ratcliffe, of Lancaster, OH, Rick (Diane) Thompson, of Rushville, OH, Jim (Debra) Garrett, of Tarlton, OH, Jeff (Linda) Garrett and Jerry (Sherry) Garrett, both of Chillicothe; 18 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; a sister, Hazel Radabaugh, of Chillicothe; and sisters-in-law, Harriett (Louie) Salyers, of Circleville, OH and Carolyn Hall, of Monroe, MI.
He was predeceased by his first wife, Marjorie (Imhoff) Taylor; brothers, William "Bill" Taylor, Walter Taylor, Carl Taylor and twin brothers, Alfred and Albert Taylor.
Clyde was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. In May of 1987, he retired from Mead Paper. Clyde was a member of U.P.I.U. Local 731 and was a 30 year member of the F.O.E. Aeries 600. He served in the US Army and US Army Reserves. Clyde was baptized in 1975. He loved the Cincinnati Bengals, the Cincinnati Reds, singing gospel music, playing the organ, dancing, family gatherings, boating, camping and volleyball.
Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Monday, October 28, 2013 in the WARE FUNERAL HOME with Rev. David Titler officiating. Burial will follow in Springbank Cemetery where military graveside rites will be conducted by the Ross County Veterans Honor Guard. Friends may call at Ware's from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday.
