Jackie W. Cox

KINGSTON: Jackie W. Cox, 68, of Kingston, died 1:45 p.m. Tuesday, October 15, 2013 at his residence following an extended illness.

He was born October 15, 1945, in Chillicothe, to the late Ernest W. Sr. and Gladys McCartney Cox.

Surviving are former wife and mother of his children, Donna J. Kelley, of Chillicothe; a son, Douglas O'Brien Cox and girlfriend, Tracy Dalton, both of Chillicothe; a daughter, Crystal Lynn Francis, of Blacklick; grandchildren, Seth and Landen Cox and Jalen and Adrianna Francis; brothers, Mike "Granny" (Shirley) Cox, of Stoutsville, Jerry (Marcia) Cox, of Kingston and Steven Cox, of Oregon; a sister, Sondra "Tiny" Smith, of Adelphi; sister-in-law, Anna Cox, of Williamsport; a brother-in-law, Herman Speakman, of Circleville; several nieces and nephews; and many friends including special friends and neighbors, Dave "Buck" Buckner, Paul Milburn, Red Robinson and Al Hines.

He was predeceased by sisters, Carlene Arledge and Ada Speakman and brothers, Ernest W. Jr., Lawrence E., Robert and Roger Cox.

Jackie served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. He retired from Chilpaco, was a member of F.O.E. Aeries 600 and was a life member of AMVETS Post 4.

Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday, October 19, 2013 in the WARE FUNERAL HOME. Burial will follow in Rowland Cemetery where military graveside rites will be conducted by the Ross County Veterans Honor Guard. Friends may call at Ware's from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday.
