Philip J. McMahon

Philip J. McMahon 78 years, died at his home in Stuart, Florida under the care of Hospice. Phil was born in Charleston, W. Virginia, but spent his school years and most of his life in Chillicothe, Ohio.

Phil enjoyed his career in the telephone industry, working and travelling throughout the continental United States, Asia, The Middle East, South America, and Caribbean. Phil moved to Stuart, FL in 1983 and was employed by the city of Stuart.

Phil is survived by his wife Nancy, whom he was married to for 57 years. They were blessed with five children: Patrick (Ghazala) living in Kuwait, Pamela of Port St. Lucie, FL, Paul (Linda) of Palm City, FL, Paige (Janet) of Chillicothe, Ohio and Jonathan of Stuart; he has nine grandchildren: Heather Greenwood and Stephen McMahon of Port St. Lucie, Nathan and Ethan McMahon of Jacksonville, FL, Meaghan, Kelly and Kate McMahon of Palm City, and Katie Beth and Conor McMahon of Chillicothe; he also has three great-grandchildren: Briauna Greenwood and Makayla and Collin McMahon, all of Port St. Lucie; Phil has a surviving brother, James McMahon of Venice, Florida and sisters, Margaret "Peggy" Ratcliffe and Janet DeBord of Frankfort, Ohio and Anne (Bill) Raines of Chillicothe; along with many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, Michael McMahon, and his sister, Carolyn Drake.

Phil was a U.S. Navy Veteran who served during the Korean War. He was a member of the VFW, American Legion and The Elks Club. He attended Palm City, FL Presbyterian Church.

Phil will be remembered most as being a loving husband, father and a devoted Granddad who was adored by all of his grandchildren. He will be deeply missed by all those who loved him.

A funeral service will be held at noon on Saturday October 26, 2013 at Palm City Presbyterian Church.
