Jerry C. Chandler

WAVERLY: Jerry C. Chandler, 70 of St. Anns Lane, Waverly, died Saturday June 1, 2013 at his residence following an extended illness. He was born on September 24, 1942 in Waverly, Ohio to the late Walter and Nina Littlejohn Chandler.

He was united in marriage on October 18, 1966 to Carol E. Scott Chandler who survives; also surviving are a son, Charlie Chandler of Waverly, a daughter, Julie Cochenhour and husband, Mark of Beaver; four grandchildren: Koty Chandler, Hunter, Abby, and Addison Cochenhour; one sister, Elinor Setty of Waverly; and special nephews: Dalton Scott, and Tony Hughes; and special brothers-in-law: Danny Betke and wife, Sandy, Michael Scott and wife, Leah, and Ginny Betkey.

He was preceded in death by a brother, John Chandler.

He was a 1962 graduate of Waverly High School, retired from the Mead Corp. with 30 years of service, was a member of the American Legion-Merritt Post #142 of Waverly, the V.F.W. in Piketon, and served with the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict.

A memorial service will be 7:00 P.M. Wednesday at Botkin Funeral Home in Waverly with Mike Evans officiating. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. Friends may call on Wednesday from 5:00-7:00 P.M. at the Funeral Home.
