Eugene J. McClory, 84, of Ft. Mitchell, Ky., passed away on May 3 at the University of Cincinnati Hospital after a short illness. He was born April 26, 1929, in Chicago, IL. In 1971 Mr. McClory took the position of President of the Adler School of Professional Psychology in Chicago. In the 1980s he moved to Michigan City, Ind., and became the assistant director of the Center for Social Concerns at the University of Notre Dame. Later, Mr. McClory moved to the Cincinnati area, working as coordinator for the Caregiver Assistance Network of Catholic Social Services of Southwestern, Ohio, where he launched dozens of caregiver support groups. Mr. McClory was married in 1971 to Mary Malone, with whom he had one daughter, Catherine. He was predeceased by his wife Mary in 1985, and his younger brother Edward in 1994. He is survived by his daughter Catherine (Michael) Diedrich and two granddaughters, Kira and Tessa, as well as his brother Robert (Margaret). He is also survived by his wife of 25 years, Mary Coleman. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, May 9, 2013 at St. Ann of the Dunes Catholic Church, 433 E. Golfwood Rd., Beverly Shores, IN. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday at the Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel, 418 Washington St., Michigan City, IN and 9:00 a.m. until Mass time Thursday at St. Ann of the Dunes Catholic Church.
