Frank G., beloved husband of the late Ruth Brown Davis, loving father of Marjorie Ellen Davis, Katherine G. (George) Gould of Brooklyn, NY, and Frank Brown (Michele) Davis, grandfather of Claude Davis Gould, devoted brother of Pierson (Peggy) Davis. Frank passed away Monday, May 20, 2013 at the age of 95. Frank was born and spent most of his life in Cincinnati, except for five years when his family lived in Mattoon, Illinois. He served three years during World War II in the Air Force on the Aleutian island of Attu, then two years following the war in the reserves. Frank graduated from Walnut Hills High School and the University of Cincinnati, where he attended law school. He spent many years as a practicing attorney in the family law firm. He was active in many organizations, including the Literary Club, Society of Colonial Wars, University Club, Cincinnatus, and Historic Southwest Ohio, He served on the Cincinnati School Board and the Recreation Commission. He was also active in the Democratic Party. Frank was a true renaissance man, enjoying art, history, theatre, and particularly classical music. He read voraciously, from Shakespeare to Tony Hillerman. He and Ruth traveled extensively in the U.S. and Europe, also venturing off to Egypt, Russia, and Australia. He was an avid fan of U.C. sports and the Reds and Bengals. He will be sorely missed. Family will greet guests from 10 until 10:45 AM on Friday at the Church of the Redeemer, Hyde Park. Funeral service on Friday at 11 AM. Sympathy may be expressed by a memorial contribution to the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra, the Cincinnati Opera, or WGUC.
