Robert "Bob" Economou fell asleep in the Lord May 4th, 2014 at the age of 81. Bob was outgoing and friendly, walking up to everyone he met with an enthusiastic " Hello I'm Bob!". Charismatic and intelligent, he never forgot a name or a face and always had something witty to say. It felt like everyone knew Dad and Dad knew everyone. We will miss him tremendously but have comfort knowing he is finally with his late wife and soul mate, Carole, who he lovingly cared for during her long battle with alzheimers. Bob lived the American Dream. Raised by Greek immigrants in Cincinnati, he worked long hours in his father's restaurant as a young boy and later while attending Withrow High School. His dream was to go to college but the Korean War called first and he joined the Navy to serve his country. After his honorable discharge, he taught dancing to pay for his Bachelors Degree at the University of Cincinnati. He continued on to obtain a Masters Degree from Xavier University. He was a stock broker at the Ohio company for 25 years then becoming a FINRA arbitrator. Dad loved people and his generosity led him to devote himself to many organizations and charities. He was a former President of the Kiwanis Club 6th division, former President of the Cincinnati Navy League, Parish Council of his church, on the Board of Governors of the Bankers Club, Drum major for the Cincinnati Scottish Pipe Band, Shriners, Free Mason, Men of Withrow, Lifetime member of the Cincinnati Art Museum, Duveneck Associaton, Mercantile Library, The World Piano Competition, Blue Ash Republican Club, Caledonian Society, Metallic Club, Alzheimers Association of Cincinnati and Cheering For Charity. Other beloved family members in Bob's life include his daughter Melissa (Sam) Zepf Muennich, Grandson Michael Zepf, step Grandchildren Dillon (Liz) Muennich & Tiffany Muennich, step great granddaughter Adeline, Brother George (Marilyn) Economou, Brother- in- law Lt. Col. (Ret) Louis Caras and his late wife Ethyl, many cousins, nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents Theofanis and Petrula, his brother Alexander and sister-in-law Sophie (Dick) Prendergast. Service of Christian Burial Friday 11 AM at Holy Trinity-St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church followed by burial at Spring Grove Cemetery. Visitation will take place 9-11 AM at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Applied Behavioral Services Autism Treatment Center, 4850 Madison Rd., Cincinnati, OH 45227 or Holy Trinity-St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church, 7000 Winton Rd., Cincinnati, OH 45224.
