William F. (Bill) Barbour died October 31, 2012 ending a 4 year struggle with the progressive neurodegenerative disease known as multiple system atrophy or Shy- Drager syndrome. Born on October 18, 1924 in Rock Island, Illinois, Bill served in the Navy during WW II, stationed in the Pacific. He graduated from the University of Illinois and was employed as a mechanical engineer by Kennametal Inc. for 38 years. Bill, along with his family, resided in Cincinnati, Ohio and Rockford, Illinois prior to relocating with his wife to Gig Harbor, WA in 1998.Bill is survived by Mary, his wife of 66 years; daughters Mary Beth and Suzanne both of Seattle, WA; son Steve of Duluth, GA; five grandchildren, four great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his daughter Kathleen Westendorf of Redmond, WA. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on November 14, 2012 in West Seattle, WA with interment at Tahoma National Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made in the name of William F.
