Asheville - Bernice Carter Bradham, 102, of Asheville died Thursday, January 24, 2013 at The Laurels of Green Tree Ridge. Born in Unicoi, Tennessee, she was a native Of Mars Hill, NC and the daughter of the late Dr. John Edward Tilden Carter M.D. and May Peek Carter.
Considered to be a very sturdy dependable person, Mrs. Bradham graduated from Appalachian State Teachers College and went on to be a school teacher in Helena, MT. where she resided for over 57 years. After her time there Mrs. Bradham moved to Asheville to live with her sister, and became a member of St. Luke's Episcopal Church.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded by her husband, Aubreth Bradham. She is survived by her sister, Elizabeth New of Asheville and several nieces and nephews and grand nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held 1:00 PM, Tuesday, January 29, 2013 at St. Luke's Episcopal Church, 219 Chun's Cove Road, Asheville, with Rev. Patty Mouer officiating. Burial will follow at Lewis Memorial Park.
