"B.A." Suddreth

Candler - Burley Azor "B.A." Suddreth, 91, of Candler, died Tuesday, March 11, 2014.

A native of Caldwell Co., he was a son of the late Burrell and Mamie Suddreth. He was also preceded in death by sisters Onnie O'Kelley, Alma Lindsey, Annie O'Kelley, Helen Black, and Mabel Reynolds.

Mr. Suddreth received the Purple Heart while serving in the U.S. Army during WWII. He worked as a logger for over fifty years.

He is survived by his wife of 71 years, Beulah Boone Suddreth; five children, Don Suddreth and his wife, Martha, of Candler, Jack Suddreth and his wife, Carolyn, of Grove Hill, AL, Jim Suddreth and his wife, Margaret, of Candler, Tim Suddreth and his wife, Holly, of Candler, and Diane Ray and her husband, Jack, of Candler; 11 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; sister Glenna McCoy of Leicester; and brother Wayne Suddreth of Candler.

At his request, a simple graveside service, open to the public, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday at the Suddreth Family Cemetery, with the Rev. Danny Rhinehart officiating.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday at Groce Funeral Home on Patton Ave.
