Asheville - Charles Lawrence Stoll, 78, of Vanderbilt Terrace, passed away Monday, November 18, 2013 at the Charles George VA Medical Center.
A native of Madison County, Charles was the son of the late William F. and Queen Mae Davis Stoll and was also preceded in death by three sisters, Hazel Infinger, Annie Mae Reeves and Patsy Lingelbach and his brother, Donald Ray Stoll.
Charles was an Air Force Veteran; also a member of Bent Creek Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and elder. He retired as a Lab Technician from American Enka and The Biltmore Company as a Host Supervisor.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia Merrell Stoll; daughter, Janet Metcalf of Woodridge, VA; son, Edmund "Jeff" Stoll of Johnson City, TN; two granddaughters, Lawren Cochran and Rachel Sprague; two great grandchildren, Aubrie Cochran and Graham Cochran and two sisters, Billie Kochanek and Dora Neighbors.
A celebration service will be held at 2:00 pm Friday in the Bent Creek Baptist Church with the Rev. Porter Jennings, Rev. Autry Neighbors and Mr. Martin Lytle officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery with military honors provided by the North Carolina National Guard Honor Guard. The family will receive friends from 12:30 until 2:00 at the church.
