WEAVERVILLE - Charles Tuch, age 92 of 53 Applecross Road died Monday September 23, 2013. Mr. Tuch was born December 7, 1920 in New York City and was a resident of Carlstadt, NJ most of his life. After retirement he lived in Sebastian, FL and Weaverville. He served in the US Army during World War II and received the Asiatic Pacific Campaign Medal, Good Conduct Medal and World War II Victory Medal. Charles was a member of the St. Eugene Catholic Church. He was the son of the late Charles Tuch, Sr. and Anna Karsch Tuch. He was preceded in death by his wife of 72 years, Eileen Meyer Tuch, who died in 2011 and his son Charles "Buddy" Tuch.
Surviving are his daughter, Ellen Lawson and husband Gary of Weaverville; son, Thomas Tuch and wife Carol of Wallington, NJ; grandchildren, Thomas Tuch, Jr., Katherine Tuch Tamburo, Christopher and Glenmore Lawson; great grandchildren, Thomas Tuch III, Allison, Andrew and Matthew Tuch, Anthony, Nicholas and Danielle Tamburo and Dylan and Jaden Lawson.
His funeral mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, September 28 in St. Eugene Catholic Church, 72 Culvern St., Asheville, NC 28804 with Father Patrick Cahill officiating. Immediately following the service there will be a luncheon at the church. Burial will be in Western Carolina State Veteran Cemetery at 12:00 noon Monday, September 30, 2013 with military rites by Buncombe Veterans Council Volunteer Memorial Team.
