Havana, FL - Dennis F. Cooper, 56, of Havana, Florida, died unexpectedly on June 8, 2013.
He was born in Asheville, North Carolina on July 24, 1956 to Donald V. Cooper and Pauline Riddle Cooper Lee. After graduating from A.C. Reynolds High School in 1974 Dennis joined the U.S. Air Force. After discharge Dennis worked with the Kentucky Early Warning System (KEWS) where he continued his career in the fiber optic telecommunications field. Dennis also worked for MCI for many years and Level 3. He had worked for the State of Florida for the last few years as a Distributive Computer System Specialist.
Dennis loved cars. His first vehicle was a VW Beetle, as was his last, driving a Buick or two in-between. He was an avid reader and loved all types of music, the Beatles being his favorite. He also loved cats.
Dennis was preceded in death by his father and grandparents. He is survived by his wife, Theresa and three stepchildren; mother, Polly Lee; sisters, Donna (John) Edmonston and Tammy (Stacey) Burrows; stepfather, Robert Lee; a special nephew, John Edmonston (Rachel), Sadie and JJ; and many other extended family members.
His family had the rare privilege of two sisters marrying two brothers. He had a very special bond to his double first cousins Sharon, Fred Jr., and Caroline and his Uncle Fred and Aunt Opal.
Dennis will be missed by family, friends and co-workers. He will be fondly remembered for his sense of humor, generous nature. and the ability to fix anything. Funeral services were held June 13 in Florida.
