Andrew J. Chacko, 81, of Dallas died Thursday, Aug. 1, 2013, at his residence.

Born in West Wyoming, he was the son of the late Andrew J. and Mary Sabol Chacko and was a graduate of West Wyoming High School and Wilkes College.

Andrew was a traffic manager with Nelson Manufacturing in Wyoming before his retirement.

Andrew was a combat disabled veteran of the Korean War in the Air Force.

He was a member of the Korean War Veterans and Daddow Isaacs Post 672 Dallas American Legion, the Disabled American Veterans of Kingston and the Mosquito Association of Korea. Andrew was also a member of the United Spinal Association, Yonkers, N.Y., and a fourth-degree Knight of Columbus, Luzerne. He was also a member of Gate of Heaven Church, Dallas.

Surviving are a son, Andrew J. and his wife, Denise Chacko, Mountain Top; daughter, Linda and her husband, Gary Royer Sr., Harveys Lake; brother, Edward Chacko, West Wyoming; sister, Dorothy Michael, Swoyersville; grandchildren, Gary Royer Jr., Christina Royer-Scheible, Andrew Chacko and Montana Chacko; and great-grandson, Samuel Scheible.

The funeral will be held at 9 a.m. Monday from Richard H. Disque Funeral Home, 2940 Memorial Highway, Dallas, with a Funeral Mass at 9:30 a.m. in Gate of Heaven Church, Dallas.

Interment will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Carverton.

Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Military honors will be held at the cemetery. The Korean War Veterans Association of Wyoming Valley will be conducting their service at 7 p.m. Sunday. Daddow Isaacs Post 672 American Legion will conduct their service at 6:30 p.m. Sunday.

Andrew's family would like to thank Hospice of the Scared Heart and all of Andrew's caregivers for all of their love, support, and care.
