Charles (Buddy) Bogdan Jr. of Vestal, N.Y., passed away at his home, surrounded by his family, on Friday, May 3, 2013.

He was predeceased by his parents, Charles and Jane Bogdan; his siblings, Robert Priem, Bernadine Toff, Celesta Nogan, Betty Jane Zurawski and Gerald Bogdan.

He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Margaret (Gawlas) Bogdan; three children and their spouses, David (Karen) Bogdan, Burlington, Vt.; Robert (Linda) Bogdan, Estelle Manor, N.J.; and Ruth (John) Dino, Waterloo, N.Y.; nine grandchildren, Charles (Stephanie), David (Heidi), Margaret, Jonathan, Daniel (Megan), Candace, Timothy, Spencer, and Joshua, as well as four great-grandchildren, Charlie, Reese, Gabrielle, and Callista. Charles is also survived by his twin sister, Charlotte Mills, and many nieces and nephews.

He was a veteran of the Korean War serving in the U.S. Army Signal Corp. He was a retired IBM Owego employee, and a member of its Quarter Century Club, a member of the Vestal United Methodist Church, and a former member of First United Methodist Church, Endicott, N.Y.

The family would like to thank Lourdes Hospice for their care and support shown to Charles during his illness.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday from Vestal United Methodist Church, 328 Main St., Vestal, N.Y. Burial will be in Vestal Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Allen Memorial Home 511-513 E. Main St., Endicott, N.Y., from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday.
