David J. Dunsavage, 72, of Wilkes-Barre passed away Friday, May 9, 2014, at Timber Ridge Health Care Center, Wilkes-Barre. His wife is Marianne Thoman Dunsavage.

David was born Dec. 28, 1941 in Pittston. He was the son of the late John and Mary Elko Dunsavage. He was a graduate of Wyoming High School, and attended Penn State University. He was employed by Techneglas, Pittston. David was a U.S. Navy veteran where he reached the rank of 3rd class petty officer. David was an accomplished musician, and played locally with Joe Nardone and the All-Stars. He also was an avid tennis player.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Wendell Thoman.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, Marianne, he is survived by his sons, David Jr., Mark and Michael; and his daughter, Marina; as well as his sisters, Lillian Savicki, and Betty Lee Frusciante; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at Simon S. Russin Funeral Home, 136 Maffett St., Plains Township, with the Very Rev. Joseph Martin of Holy Resurrection Orthodox Cathedral officiating. Interment will follow in the Orthodox Lawn of Fern Knoll Burial Park, Dallas.
Family and friends may call from 5 until 8 p.m. Tuesday. A Parastas Service will be held at 6 p.m.
