Dorothy Kutz, 91, of Seaford, Del., died Thursday, Jan. 16, 2014, at Heart Homes, Annapolis, Md.

Born in Newport Township in May 1922, she served on active duty with the Navy Nurse Corps during World War II. After leaving the Navy Reserve in 1954, she married Narcy Kutz and worked at South Baltimore General Hospital until 1960. She lived in Arnold and Pasadena, Md., for more than 20 years and is survived by her daughters, Nancy (Annapolis), and Gerry.

They shared a passion for building homes, traveling in their Airstream and the West. She was a charter member of the "Women in Military Service for America" and a two-time breast cancer survivor.

Friends may visit from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Barranco & Sons P.A. Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Ritchie Highway, Severna Park, MD 21146.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday in St. Andrew by the Bay Catholic Church, 701 College Parkway, Annapolis, MD 21409. A Navy veteran's ceremony and interment will be at 1 p.m. in Maryland Eastern Shore Veterans Cemetery, Hurlock, Md.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the National Breast Cancer Foundation; the Women's Memorial Foundation, Department 560, Washington, DC 20041-0560; or Hospice of the Chesapeake.
