Edward H. Hendrzak, 81, of Warrior Run passed away Sunday, April 27, 2014, in the Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center, surrounded by his loving family.

He was born in Wilkes-Barre Township on Oct. 1, 1932. He was the son of the late John and Julia Rokosz Hendrzak.
He was a graduate from Marymount High School and Wilkes-Barre Business College.
He was a Korean War veteran of the U.S. Coast Guard, serving from 1953 to 1957.
He was employed by the U.S. Postal Service. Upon retirement, he operated Field Goal Sports with his son.
He was a caring father and grandfather. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and attending their many activities. He had an outgoing and generous personality. He was involved with the former Holy Rosary Church, Ashley, and was a coach and former president of the Warrior Run Little League. He was a member of St. Leo's/Holy Rosary Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife, the former Sandy Tomko Hendrzak; sister, Bernadine Rydsewicz; and brother, John Hendrzak.
Surviving are his daughter, Pam Quaglia and her husband, Kevin; son, Edward K. Hendrzak; four grandchildren, Connor, Kalie, Cody and Luke; sister, Eleanor Pliscott; brothers, Bernard and Richard Hendrzak; nieces and nephews.
Funeral services with military honors will be held at 9:30 a.m. Thursday from George A. Strish Inc. Funeral Home, 105 N. Main St., Ashley, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Leo's/Holy Rosary Church. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and from 8:30 a.m. to services Thursday.
