Francis M. Kon, 81, of Larksville passed away Sunday, June 8, 2014, in Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center, Plains Township.

He was born in Larksville on June 8, 1933. He was the son of the late Michael and Josephine Olowiany Kon.
He was a graduate of Larksville High School and was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War.
He was employed by Acme Markets until his retirement.
He was a member of St. John the Baptist Church, Larksville, and a member of Larksville American Legion Post 655.
He enjoyed doing yardwork, tinkering with things, woodworking, spending time with family and friends, but most especially he loved spending his time with his granddaughter, Kyla.
He was preceded in death by his wife, the former Rosemary Lamb Kon; son, Gerald (Jerry) Kon; sisters, Helen Duda, Theresa Alphonso and Anna Figler; and brother, Raphael Kon.
Surviving are his son, Martin (Marty) Kon and his wife, Christine; granddaughter, Kyla Kon; sisters, Betty Zadrozny, Josephine Moluski and Sophie Zarrizski; numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday from Andrew Strish Funeral Home, 11 Wilson St., Larksville.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. in St. John the Baptist Church, with the Rev. Gerald Gurka officiating.
Interment will follow in St. John's Cemetery, Dallas.
Family and friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and from 9 to 10 a.m. Thursday.
