Phyllis (Nancy) Rutchauskas, 63, of Lehman Township passed away Sunday, June 1, 2014, at her home surrounded by her family.

She was born in Hershey on April 22, 1951, a daughter of the late Fred and Phyllis Beetham Guise. She was a graduate of Hershey High School.
Phyllis received her bachelor's degree in library science from Kutztown University and her master's degree in library science from Penn State University. She was employed as a librarian and library science teacher by the Greater Nanticoke Area School District.
Phyllis was a member of St. Nicholas Church, Wilkes-Barre, where she served as a lector and as a booth chairwoman at its annual bazaar. She was a member of the Pennsylvania State Education Society and the Greater Nanticoke Area Education Association.
Phyllis is survived by her husband of 40 years, Joseph C. Rutchauskas; her son, Erik Josef Rutchauskas and his wife, Ashley, Spring City; her daughter, Jessica Marie Porter and her husband, Jamie, Tobyhanna; grandchildren, Emma Jane Rutchauskas and Olivia Ann Porter; sisters, Beverly Rexrode, Hawaii; and Kathy Sanner, Baltimore, Md.; and by numerous nieces and nephews.
Private funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family from Nat & Gawlas Funeral Home, 89 Park Ave., Wilkes-Barre. Her pastor, Monsignor Joseph G. Rauscher, will officiate. Interment will be private in Holy Trinity Cemetery, Bear Creek. Friends may call at the funeral home from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday.
