Robert D. Roberts, 82, of Wilkes-Barre passed away Thursday, May 15, 2014, in the VA Nursing Facility, Wilkes-Barre.

He was born Aug. 28, 1931, in Plymouth, and was the son of the late Arwel Wynn and the late Margaret Bevan Peters and Leslie Peters.
He was a 1950 graduate of Davenport High School.
Bob will be remembered by all who knew him as generous, honest and for his love of life, his willingness to see the best in people and celebrate even your smallest accomplishments.
He was an Army veteran with the 155th Infantry that served in Korea and was an American patriot who loved his country and honored all who served.
He was formerly employed by Tobyhanna Army Depot as a computer programmer.
Robert was a member of First Christian Church, Plymouth; Plains American Legion Post 558; Veterans of Foreign Wars, Plymouth; and the Glen Miller Society.
His absence will be felt forever. He is survived by his children, Colleen McKenna and husband, John, Brodheadsville; and April Roberts, Wilkes-Barre; grandchildren, Shannon King and husband, John, Jerome; John D. McKenna and wife, Sarah, England; Daniel Jimmerson Jr. and wife, Stephanie, Scranton; and Josh McKenna, Alexandria, Virginia; great-grandchildren, Devon King, Skylar King, Ava King, Brianna McKenna, Kaleb McKenna, Amirah McKenna, Madison Jimmerson and Kara Jimmerson; his sister, Gwen Singer, Wilkes-Barre and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday from Williams-Hagen Funeral Home Inc., 114 W. Main St., Plymouth, with the Rev. David Quisenberry officiating.
Interment will be held in Edge Hill Cemetery.
Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations made be made to the Janet Weis Children's Hospital, 100 N. Academy Ave., Danville, PA 17822.
