Ronald E. Williams, 69, of Huntington Township, died Wednesday, Jan. 1, 2014, at home.

Born in Wilkes-Barre, he was the son of the late Roy and Lois Eveland Williams and, prior to retiring, drove tractor trailer for Acme Markets for 28 years.
Ron was a volunteer fireman and Pennsylvania fire policeman for more than 30 years. He held multiple offices over the years, including chief, assistant chief and captain of the fire police for Huntington Township Volunteer Fire Company.
Mr. Williams was involved with his boys in both scouting and Little League for many years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, working outside and had a great love for his grandchildren, great-grandchild and for animals, most notably his dogs, Whiskey and Lady.
Ron is survived by wife, the former Gail L. Perugino; sons, Ronald E. Jr. and his wife, Patty, Bethlehem; Mark and his wife, Paulette, Hanover Township; and Richard and his wife, Michele, Clifton Springs, N.Y.; sister, Loisanne Wolfe, Marlboro, N.Y.; six grandchildren, one great-grandchild, nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday at Lehman Family Funeral Service Inc., 689 Hazle Ave., Wilkes-Barre, with the Rev. John McGahagan officiating.
Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Hanover Township.
Friends may call from 11:30 a.m. until the time of service Monday at the funeral home.
