Thomas V. Navin, 76, of Mountain Top passed away Tuesday, Oct. 8, 2013, at his home.

He was born in Wilkes-Barre Township on Nov. 8, 1936, a son of the late Patrick and Dorothy Virginis Navin.
Tom was a graduate of Wilkes-Barre Township High School and he attended Wilkes College. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran. Tom owned and managed several local trucking companies. He was a member of St. Jude's Church, Mountain Top.
Tom was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ann Staniorski Navin, and by his grandson, Jack Thomas Vincent Navin. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Robert Navin.
Surviving are his children, Mary Jo Navin, Mountain Top; Thomas V. Navin and his wife, Katie, Nutley, N.J.; and Ann Judith Navin, at home; grandson, Jayson Navin; sister, Dorothy Kashula and her husband, Michael, Wilkes-Barre Township; brothers, Patrick Navin and his wife, Nancy, Enfield, Conn.; Frank Navin and his wife, Ann Maire, Bel Air, Md.; James Navin and his wife, Joan, Nuangola; and Terry Navin and his wife, Patricia, Harveys Lake; sister-in-law, Patricia Navin, Bethlehem; nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday in St. Jude's Church, 420 S. Mountain Blvd. (Route 309), Mountain Top. Friends are asked to meet at the church. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Nat & Gawlas Funeral Home, 89 Park Ave., Wilkes-Barre.
