William B. Gorski (Daddy Bill), 91, of Richmond, Va., went to be with the Lord on Thursday, Oct. 24, 2013.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Eloise Way Gorski; his parents and three siblings.

Daddy Bill is survived by his daughter, Joan Way Mathis Fletcher, Durham, N.C.; his nieces, Helen Mary Levan and Mooneen Bielecki; nephew, Andrew R. Gorski; five granddaughters, nine great-grandchildren and 13 great-great-grandchildren.

Bill was a native of Wilkes-Barre, but lived the last 53 years in Richmond, Va.

He graduated from the University of Washington and retired from the Defense General Supply Center as a federal civil service administrator. He served as a SCORE volunteer business counselor since his retirement, and was a member of various professional and fraternal organizations.

He was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church of Richmond.

He served his country on active duty throughout World War II in the U.S. Coast Guard with sea duty in both the Atlantic and Pacific theaters of war. He also served on active duty as a member of the Naval Reserve during the Korean War. He was a member of American Legion Post 354, Bon Air, Va.

The family will receive friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Bliley's-Chippenham, 6900 Hull Street Road, Richmond, Va. A funeral ceremony will be held at noon Monday in St. Peter's Catholic Church. Interment will be held in Dale Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Peter's Catholic Church, 800 E. Grace St., Richmond, VA 23219, or to one's favorite charity.
