William R. Parrish, 65, formerly of Shavertown, passed away Thursday, Oct. 18, 2012, at Mercy Center, Dallas.

Born in Wilkes-Barre, he was the son of the late Edward (Ted) and Ruth Maloney Parrish.
Bill was a graduate of Kingston High School, Class of 1965 and Penn State University, Wilkes-Barre campus, where he earned an associate degree.
He had been employed by Wilkes-Barre Iron and Wire, Air Products and Chemicals, Hanover Township, and worked as an estimator for Dunbar Builders and Hardware, Wilkes-Barre.
For a number of years Bill was active in Back Mountain youth programs, coaching baseball and soccer. He was an avid fan of all Penn State athletics and Pittsburgh Steelers football.
Bill was a member of Shavertown United Methodist Church.
Surviving are his wife of 43 years, the former Joanne Bullock; daughter, Michelle Meade and husband, Michael, Shavertown; son, Mark Parrish and wife, Keisha, Middle River, Md.; and grandchildren, Jensen and Jordyn Meade; Savannah and Joshua Parrish.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday from Harold C. Snowdon Funeral Home Inc., 140 N. Main St., Shavertown, PA 18708. The Rev. Marian E. Hartman will officiate. Interment will be made in Chapel Lawn Memorial Park, Dallas. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
