Jack West Parker, Jr., was born June 21, 1949, in Jackson, MS, to the late Jack West Parker, Sr., and Lillie Mae Tyler Parker. He died November 15, 2013.

Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 23, 2013, at New Bethel AME Church (2202 Decatur St., Jackson, MS 39213), followed by burial at Natchez Trace Cemetery in Madison. Visitation is 1-7 p.m. Friday, November 22, 2013, (family present from 5-7 p.m.) at Lakeover Funeral Home.

Jack was a U.S. Army veteran who served in the Mississippi National Guard where he was a Staff Sergeant and Squad Leader for 30 years with the 972nd Dental Detachment Unit. He also worked for the Internal Revenue Service for 27 years until his retirement from the Tax Advocate Department in February of 2009.

Mr. Parker's immediate survivors include: his devoted and loving wife of 44 years, Ruby T. Parker; one daughter, Nikisha (Lawrence) Cornelius of Raleigh, NC; two sons, Xavius (Tracey) Parker of Houston, TX, and Jack Williams of Atlanta, GA; and five grandchildren.
