Mark Hall Gallagher, 56, of Florence, MS, passed away on January 19, 2013, at G.V. (Sonny) Montgomery VA Medical Center.
The memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 2, 2013, at 10:00 a.m., in the Pavilion at Pelahatchie Shore Park at the Reservoir. Pastor Bobby Roberson of Fellowship Congregational Methodist Church will be officiating. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Wilcox Funeral Home.
Mark was preceded in death by his parents, John Edward and Verna Mae Hall Gallagher.
Mark is survived by his wife, Linda Roberson Gallagher; son, John Markus Gallagher; daughters, April Cook and Amanda Gallagher; stepdaughters, Kimberly Hickey (Rusty), and Stephanie Purvis (John); grandchildren, Andrew Long, Hannah Hickey, Baylie Cook, Jacob Gallagher, Baylie Gallagher, Katie Hickey, Caleb Bates, Brody Cook; and sister, Deanne Clark. Mark is also survived by a host of family and friends and his Labrador Retriever, Dock.
Mark was born in Houston, TX on May 21, 1956. He served in the US Navy during the Vietnam Conflict and later attended Hinds Community College, majoring in Journalism. Mark was the co-host of The Fishing Hole radio show, host of Hawgs 'N Horns television show, host of Magnolia Adventures television show, and co-owner of Call of The Wild International Outdoor Travel, Inc. Mark shared his love for the outdoors through many charitable events for children. He was General Manager of C & S Marine of Flowood, MS and for the past several years was Sales/Finance Manager at Duncan Marine in Brandon, MS.
