Maxine Raines Condit

Maxine Raines Condit, 89, formerly of Starkville, MS passed away Monday April 14, 2014 at Willow Creek Nursing Home in Byram, MS. Funeral services will be held 2:00pm Thursday April 17, 2014 from the Chapel of Wright & Ferguson Funeral Home Jackson, MS. Visitation will be from 1:00pm till 2:00pm. Burial will be in Lakewood Memorial Park.
Maxine was retired from Standard Life Insurance where she worked for 35 years. She was a member of the American Business Association for 26 years. She was a lifetime member of the VFW and also a member of the American Legion. She was an avid fisherman, loved to dance, travel, make crafts, and go to flea markets and garage sales.
She was preceded in death by her grandson Jon Michael Jagger, her parents John and Florence Raines, and brothers; J.B. Raines, James Eckford Raines, Sr, and Ishmall Vann; sisters, Vera Jenkins and Joyce Garnett.
She is survived by daughter, Merle Claypool Bryam, MS, great-grandson Joel Jagger (Mitzi), great-granddaughter Jordan Jagger; special nephew Mickey Jenkins, special longtime friend Don Zackman of Georgia; sisters, Doris Chesteen of Starkville, Faye Robinson (V.J.) of Starkville, Maye Morrow (Bill) of Lake Jackson, Texas, numerous nieces and nephews, sister-in-law Peggy Howell Raines and Sara Raines, and her special caregivers Shane Pittman, Kim Files.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or to the Human Society.

I just received word about your Mom. I am so sorry for your loss. I remember all the good times we had skiing at your Dad's camp in Evansville. I have thought of you often thru the years, and will keep you and your family in my thoughts and prayers.

Aunt Maxine, may you have a joyous reunion with your family that is already waiting for you. Peek over the clouds as all of you sit and look down upon the rest of us. Your strong attitude and kindness helped many of us in walking the paths that we needed to. You and Merle are much loved.
