Pamela Ann McAlpin

Austin, TX

Pam McAlpin, 62, passed away May 3, 2013 in Austin. A private graveside service will be held at Magee Cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to Tutor Funeral Home, Magee, MS.

Pam was born in Jackson, MS and grew up in Magee. She graduated from Magee High School in 1969. She served as drum majorette for the Magee Trojan's Band. Pam also played in a band known as Greenhouse with Pat Patrick, Ray Mullins, George Dearing and Leslie Wright. After graduation, Pam moved to Dallas where she worked for the Kim Dawson Agency modeling for Neiman Marcus, GM and other companies. She attended Tulane University receiving a nursing degree and a masters in social work, where she worked in several cities including Austin, New Orleans and on an Indian Reservation. She is preceded in death by her parents, Tom and Ora Mae McAlpin, owners of McAlpin's Department Store. She is survived by two sisters, Melissa Capobianco of Magee and Jenelle (Wayne) Smith of Brandon, nieces, Tonia Capobianco of California, Amanda Smith of Brandon, nephews Richard Capobianco of New York, Justin Smith and Nathaniel Smith both of Brandon. She is also survived by her significant other Michael Musson of Austin, Texas, and her beloved dog Mason. Pam will be greatly missed by her closest friends Trudy Bomer of Clinton and Michele Brown of San Antonio, Texas.
