Charles Ivy "Charlie" McCraw, 59, died suddenly Thursday, October 17th. A resident of Germantown for several years, he was originally from Braden, Tennessee in Fayette County and was the son of the late Harris L. "Sonny" McCraw and Nancy Ivy McCraw who currently resides in Germantown. His career in banking included The Bank of Mason, First Tennessee, where he served as Regional President, and most recently Metropolitan Bank as Senior Managing Director. Services will be held at 3p.m. Sunday, October 20 in the chapel at Hope Presbyterian Church in Cordova with visitation two hours prior to the service. Interment will follow immediately after the service at the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Hickory Withe, TN. Active in the community, Mr. McCraw served many organizations including Germantown Performing Arts Centre, Germantown Chamber of Commerce, Germantown Kiwanis, and Germantown Economic Development Commission. He graduated from the University of Tennessee at Martin with a B.S. in Business Administration, Barrett School of Banking, and the Graduate School of Banking of the South at Louisiana State University. He is survived by his wife, Beverly Wallace McCraw; his daughter, Elizabeth Ivy McCraw of Denver, CO; his son, John Harris McCraw of Nashville, TN; his brothers, Harris L. McCraw, III (Leslie) of Dallas, TX and J. Weber McCraw (Charlotte) of Covington, TN; and a sister, Diane McCraw Hampton (Leonard) of Memphis. The family requests memorials be sent to Hope Church where he was an Elder and charter member or Germantown Performing Arts Centre where he was a past president of the board.
