O. Franklin Lowie, 85, was born September 28th, 1928 in Helena, GA, and passed away peacefully January 17th, 2014 at Baptist Hospital in Memphis, TN. He was preceded in death by his parents, Otto and Carrie Lowie and his brother, Thomas Lowie. He is survived by Cathy Lowie. Frank was a beloved father to four children, Lisa Pajtas (Scott), Laura Kalchbrenner (Russ), Linda Burleson (Pat), and Bill Lowie (Jill), ten grandchildren, Sarah (28), Catherine (26), Shannon (23), Rachel (13), Paisley (11), Lauren (10), Joshua (9), Liam (7), Luke (6), and Broder (3), and one great-grandson, James (11 months). Prior to joining the FBI in 1953, Frank served in the U.S. Army, earned a Bachelor of Law degree from the University of Georgia in Athens, and a Master of Law degree from New York University in New York City. His assignments with the bureau included service as an Inspector and tenures as Assistant Special Agent in Charge (ASAC) in Alexandria, VA, and Washington D.C. He later served as Special Agent in Charge (SAC) in Indiana and Michigan. He retired from the FBI in December 1980. Frank joined Guardsmark in April 1982 and quickly became a Vice President. He served as Vice President, Manager in Charge, Inspection, Regulatory and Compliance Division (IRC) from 1990 until his retirement August 15, 2013. Frank's career spanned 27 years with the FBI and 30 years with Guardsmark. He was exemplary leader who was respected by those who worked with him. Frank was a generous, loving family man whose family took great pride in his dedication and accomplishments. We are honored and blessed to have Frank's cousin Ronald Evans (Judy), lead the memorial service. Visitation is scheduled for family and friends on Friday, January 31st, 2014 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. and a memorial service is on Saturday, February 1st, 2014 at 11 a.m. at Memphis Funeral Home, 5599 Poplar Ave, Memphis, TN.
