MANCHESTER - Adam John Czarkowski, 66, of Manchester, died Monday, Aug. 19, 2013, after a period of declining health. He was born in Germany on July 17, 1947, to Jan Czarkowski and Alma (Gross) Czarkowski. He immigrated to the United States in 1952 with his family. Mr. Czarkowski graduated from Chelsea High School and Salem State College. After his college graduation, Mr. Czarkowski proudly served his country in the U.S. Army from 1970-1972. He was honorably discharged with the rank of Staff Sergeant.

After his military service, Mr. Czarkowski began a 30 year career with the United States government. He worked for the Social Security Administration and the Internal Revenue Service. He was very active in the employee union during his working years. Mr. Czarkowski enjoyed hunting, fishing, and reading every history book he could find. After his retirement he enjoyed helping his children with projects at their houses and waiting around for repairmen so his children wouldn't have to miss work.
He is survived by his former wife and most recently his caregiver, Joanne Trainor; his sons, Adam Czarkowski and his wife, Beth and Michael Czarkowski and his wife, Katie; his daughter, Christina Czarkowski and her boyfriend, Alex Covatis; his brother, Richard Prysbela; and his grandsons, Tyler Czarkowski and Nicholas Covatis.
There are no calling hours.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated Monday, Aug. 26, at 10 a.m. at the Grace Episcopal Church, 30 Eastman St., Concord.
Urn burial with military honors will follow at the NH State Veteran's Cemetery, Boscawen.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Nongame and Endangered Wildlife Program at New Hampshire Fish and Game, 2 Hazen Drive, Concord, 03301.
