THE VILLAGES, Fla. – Joseph A McAuley, 84, passed away Monday, April 28, 2014, in The Villages, Florida.

He was born on Sept. 6, 1929, in Concord, graduated from St John's High School and served in the U.S. Army. He retired from the U.S. Postal Service in 1986 and enjoyed a long and happy retirement in The Villages. He loved to golf, was a member of the Knights of Columbus, American Legion and VFW.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Dorothy (King) who resides in The Villages; their four children, Joe and his wife Tassee of Concord, Steve and his wife, Wendy, of Ledyard, Conn., Nancy Lesieur and her husband, Tony Lesieur, of Northfield and John and his wife, Heidi, of The Villages, Fla.; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his brother, Paul; and step-brother, Robert McAllister.

A funeral mass will be held Friday, May 16, at 10 a.m., at St. Peter's Church followed by a ceremony at the NH Veterans Cemetery in Boscawen at noon.
