BOW - Robert W. Ladd Sr., 86, passed away peacefully surrounded by his children, the ones he laughed with, lived for, and loved, on Monday, Oct. 7, 2013.

One of eight children born to the late Charles and Ellen Ladd, also of Bow, and known to many as Bob or Buddy, he lived all of his life in Bow.

He was a quiet, gentle man who loved his family more than anything. Always quick to flash his loving smile, he left an indelible mark on all he met and will be greatly missed by his family and everyone who knew him. No words could ever be beautiful enough, eloquent enough, or exacting enough to sum up this devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. Although we hate that he is gone forever, we love that he has lived so well.

An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed horseshoes, deer hunting (getting his final deer just last year), fishing, reading westerns, watching action movies and playing cards. He was an avid Walking Dead fan. He served in the army in World War II.

Robert was predeceased by his loving wife of 65 years, Jean Laska Ladd. He was also predeceased by his brother, Charles Seneca Ladd; and sisters, Evangelyn Young and Ruth Desmarais.

He will be lovingly missed by his children and their spouses, Robert Ladd Jr., David and Bonnie Ladd, Vicki and Eddie Jensen, and Bonnie and Peter Nieves; his grandchildren and their spouses, Cean and Raine Jensen, Steve and Amber Jensen, Dustin Ladd, Skye Nieves, Sierra Nieves, Rochelle Ladd, Jesse Ladd and Adam Ladd; his great-grandchildren, Jasmine Jensen, Sydney Jensen, Hannah Jensen, Killian Miller, twins Maudella and Brindel Klingelhoffer and Ezekiel Ladd; his siblings and their spouses, Alberta Sweeney, Barbara Macauley, Henry and Rena Ladd, and Willis and Sandra Ladd; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

Calling hours will be held Thursday, Oct. 17, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Bennett Funeral Home, 209 N. Main St., Concord.

Graveside services will be held Friday, Oct. 18, at 10 a.m. at Evans Cemetery in Bow.
